The Charlotte Hornets are hosting the NBA’s FIRST Music Industry Night on MLK Day, January 2020 at Spectrum Center.
This event will bring the music scene together in the Carolinas and will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those aspiring to have a career in the music industry, whether that is as an artist or in a behind-the-scenes role.
Kicking things off that afternoon, there will be an exclusive, VIP Panel session which will feature appearances by top producers, managers, artists, DJs, radio personalities and record labels. They will discuss how they made it to where they are, tips and tricks in the industry and will host a Q&A with the audience. Following the panel, there will be a mixer where the VIP ticket buyers will be able to mingle with the panel.
Included with this Music Industry Night is a performance contest. Upon purchasing a VIP ticket to the event, artists will be able to submit one of their own songs. The panel will vote on which entries will be the winners and then multiple artists will have the chance to perform center court during the post-game concert.
At 5:00pm, the Hornets game tips off against the Orlando Magic.
Following the game, all VIP and concert ticket buyers through the dedicated ticket link will be able to come down and sit in the club seats located closest to the court. The concert will feature a great lineup of hip-hop and R&B artists, including:
- Legendary soul duo – Ruff Endz
- Rhythm + Flow finalist – Sam Be Yourself
- RCA/Sony recording artist – Dear Silas
- Kooley High founding member – Charlie Smarts
- Award winning DJ – DJ Chuck T
- Surprise appearances by local Charlotte hip-hop artists
